Great Big Sea sailing to Dawson Creek in October

The EnCana Events Centre (EEC) will be full of frenzy in October with the latest announcement that Great Big Sea will be performing in Dawson Creek Oct. 29.

“Great Big Sea is huge,” exclaimed Ryan MacIvor, general manager of EEC. “They’re a phenomenal Canadian band. Seventeen years, I believe, in the business and they’re going to put on a great show.”

He also noted that the event is slated as an ‘evening with.’ So, to the delight of fans, only the band will be playing that night with no opening act.

“October’s just chockablock full of events,” said MacIvor.

A much-anticipated event, Reba MacEntire will take the stage Oct. 30. In the weeks leading up to the redheaded icon coming to town, EEC will host a professional bull riding event with world bull riding champ Cody Snyder.

Oct. 8 is Jason Bonham’s Led Zeppelin Experience.

“We have the Led Zeppelin Experience, Jason Bonham, where you’ll have the sound, the lights, the video of Led Zeppelin here, so there’s some incredible entertainment coming to the Peace region,” beamed MacIvor.
