CHAMBER PRESIDENT APPOINTED TO TASK FORCE
The Dawson Creek Chamber of Commerce President Denis Labelle has been appointed to the city's Economic Development Task Force.
He joins numerous other city councillors, business representatives, public sector workers and others who already make up the Task Force.
The 11 members of the Task Force (including Labelle) will work on examining the city’s economic strategy to determine what can and should be done to help the city grow.
Labelle's appointment will mean more input on the Task Force from large industry, according to information presented to city council.
The decision to appoint Labelle was made at council's meeting last Monday.

FIRE HALL TENDER APPROVED
Dawson Creek's firefighters will have their reception hall area renovated after council approved a measure to upgrade their fire hall earlier this week for over $92,000.
The City of Dawson Creek agreed to pay approximately $92,600 to W.L. Construction out of Fort St. John. The company will renovate the fire hall reception area by creating a secure customer service window, enclosing their reception area, and relocating their communications equipment.
These changes will make the area more functional and secure, according to information provided to council.
