The New Years baby of Dawson Creek is here! Bentley Berge arrived at 1:36 a.m. Jan. 1, weighing seven pounds, eight ounces. Mom Kailey, dad Riley and big sister Berkley welcomed Bentley at the Dawson Creek and District Hospital. While Kailey's due date was Jan. 1, she didn't think that her baby would be the first born that day.
"We didn't see it coming … we were only in labor for two hours. We were getting ready for bed and then we decided to come down to the hospital," she said. "It was a shocker. I hoped for it, but I didn't expect it," said Riley.
While his entrance into the world might have been a surprise, mom, dad and big sister are excited about the new addition to their family.
"Berkley's pretty excited. She wanted a little sister at first, but now she likes the idea of being the princess," said mom Kailey. "Now our little family is all complete. We have a girl and a boy … it's totally what we wanted."
It's clear that this little family is thrilled to have a new addition, and the fact that he's the New Years baby is just an added bonus. Congratulations to the Berges!
