A Dawson Creek man faces multiple charges after RCMP found two shotguns, a rifle, a machete, and cocaine during a search of a Dawson Creek home on Tuesday, according to the RCMP.
A search warrant was executed on a residence in the 800 block of 95th Ave, after the RCMP received information that a man had a firearm and was considered a public safety risk.
The search revealed a GIB model 3200 American Import CO double barrel shotgun, a .303 older-style British military rifle, and a Remington 12 Gauge shotgun.
There is a “high likelihood” that these guns were stolen, it cannot be confirmed at this time, according to the RCMP.
Along with the guns, police allegedly found a machete, multiple knives, and a small amount of cocaine.
One man was arrested without incident and later charged with 12 counts. These includes three counts of unsafe firearm storage, and four counts of possession of a firearm contrary to a court order. As well, he faces four charges of breaching his probation and one count of possession of a controlled substance.
He is set to appear in court on March 5.
